Andy Deen

Andy holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Sunderman Conservatory in Gettysburg, PA, and is pursuing his Master's in Music at the University of Florida, as well as a Music Ed certification.  He has performed with the famous 11th Pennsylvania Fife and Drum Corps as well as numerous orchestras and symphonies.  Andy currently runs sectionals for the Gator Marching Band and is one of four directors of the Gator Basketball Pep Band.  Having taken piano lessons for many years, he's also the church pianist for a local Gainesville church.

Andy has experience individually teaching UF undergrad instrumentalists, as well as middle-school age beginners and adults for private music lessons.  He is familiar with the preparation needed for music competitions. The parent of a former oboe student says, "Andy explained everything very well, made the lessons interesting, and made it possible for my daughter to be relaxed during her lessons.  I would highly recommend him."  UF and Sunderman Conservatory mentors say, "Andy will bring a lot of enthusiasm, spark and fun to lessons.  He is serious about making music and will be an inspiration to beginning students,"  and, "I think you will find Andy to be a man of complete integrity, very knowledgeable in his field, and willing to work very hard."  We are thrilled to offer Andy's instruction in Oboe Levels 1-3 and Piano Levels 1-2.
